Audio Review: 1More Comfobuds Pro!
Affordable wireless earbuds seem like a dime-a-dozen these days, with a multitude of unknown brands scattered all across Amazon and other online marketplaces. There are, however, a number of brands that bring a lot of value at reasonably affordable prices – one of these is 1More. The company has released a lot of great-sounding audio gear and accessories, and we’ve gone hands-on with some of their products before.
With that said, we’re going to check out the 1More Comfobuds Pro, and go over the specs and features of these earbuds. What exactly do these offer, and are they worth it? Let’s get started.
Hardware Design
The earbuds come in an oval case that features a USB-C charging port, a pairing button on the inside, and an LED indicator on the front.
The Comfobuds Pro have a sleek design with a stem that tapers down at the end, but overall they have a minimalist look to them compared to most wireless earbuds in the same price range. The earbuds also have an IPX4 rating, so they’ll be safe to wear during workouts and light rain. The earbuds respond to touch, so you can control your music by tapping and holding on the side. They also feature wear detection, so they’ll pause your music every time you take them off, and resume once you put them back on.
The Comfobuds also have glowing lights located at the tip of their stems, which flash gently when they are turned on, making for a nice little design touch.
Initial Set-up and Usage
Set-up is easy, as all you have to do is open the charging case, and hold down the pairing button until you see the earbuds appear on your device menu. Once you accept the pairing prompt, it’s all systems go.
You can also download 1More’s Android app on the Google Play Store if you want to modify the controls on the Comfobuds Pro. The app also includes a manual for the earbuds, and will even let you customize touch controls, equalizer settings, and listening modes.
How Do They Sound?
In terms of Sound Quality, the Comfobuds Pro sound good, with a nice and even bass sound courtesy of the 13.4mm dynamic drivers. It’s enough so that it doesn’t drown out the mids and highs, and overall I had a great time listening to my music on these.
The included active QuietMax Active Noise Cancellation and ambient modes are rather useful, and I was impressed in particular by the ANC on the earbuds. I was able to listen to my music uninterrupted by outside elements.
As with all other wireless earbuds, the ComfoBuds Pro also come with built-in microphones. I was able to use the earbuds for video and voice calls without any problems, as long as I was in an area with good reception. Battery life was also good as the earbuds lasted me up to 6 hours on a single charge, after which I had to top up using the charging case.
Should you Get Them?
If you’re after a pair of affordable earbuds that come with good sound quality, long-lasting battery life, and noise-cancellation features, then the Comfobuds Pro are a great choice.
For around £70, there are some compromises though like the lack of more in-depth EQ customization and sound profiles, but given the wealth of other features at this price point, the Comfobuds Pro stand out from the rest of the competition.
