Samsung Galaxy A33: Specs, Price, and More!
Samsung’s announcement of its newest A-series models has gotten people excited, and for good reason. The Galaxy A53 and A33 are a good-looking pair of midrange Android smartphones, and while both offer great value for money, we think that the A33 might be the more practical choice for a lot of people, especially those looking for an affordable and up-to-date smartphone.
The two smartphones however still have to make their way to the market, with the Galaxy A53 launching on April 1st, and the A33 later on April 22nd. If you want to know more about the A33’s specs list and features, then read on below!
Screen and Design
Samsung made sure to give the A33 a bit of a spec boost by adding an impressive 6.4-inch 90hz AMOLED panel to the device. It’s got a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels, and will come with a coating of Gorilla Glass 5. It does come with a notch for the front-facing camera, however, compared to the A53’s hole-punch camera design.
As for the external design of the phone, the A33 comes with an all-plastic body, albeit covered in a nice-looking matte coating. While it closely resembles the slightly more expensive Galaxy A53, it sets itself apart by featuring a matte-coated frame around the edges of the phone, instead of the glossy paint job on its more expensive counterpart. The Galaxy A33 also features IP67 dust and water resistance, which is a great feature to have on a relatively affordable smartphone. Unfortunately, the body lacks a 3.5mm headphone port which used to be a common sight on Samsung’s mid-range devices.
Internal Specs, Camera, and Battery
As far as internal specs are concerned, Samsung has equipped the Galaxy A33 with the Exynos 1280 processor, a rather new chipset. The phone comes in different storage configurations and there will be options with 128GB of internal storage and 6GB of RAM, a 128GB and 8GB combo, as well as a 256GB and 8GB combo. It will also be 5G-compatible which should bring some fast connection speeds.
The Galaxy A33 will also have a massive 5,000 mAh battery, which is pretty much the norm for most modern Android flagships these days. It will also be compatible with 25W fast charging.
The back of the phone houses a quad-camera setup, which includes a 48-megapixel f/1.8 main camera, 8-megapixel f/2.2 ultrawide lens, 5-megapixel f/2.4 macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel f/2.4 depth sensor. The front-facing camera meanwhile has a 13-megapixel resolution.
Release Date and Price
The Samsung Galaxy A33 is scheduled to go on sale on 22nd April in the UK, a few weeks later than the Galaxy A53. It will be priced at £329, around £70 less than the Samsung Galaxy A53. We think that if you’re after a relatively affordable Android smartphone from a well-known brand, with decent specs, then the A33 should be a great consideration. If you plan on keeping your smartphone for a long time, then you’ll be glad to know that hat the phone will launch with Android 12 and Samsung’s One UI software and will have up to four years of software support.
