5 Reasons to Get the POCO F4 GT!
A while back, we took a look at the POCO F4 GT, one of the newest and most powerful Android phones from Xiaomi’s POCO Brand. It’s now available in multiple markets globally and comes with a compelling set of hardware features that make it stand out from the rest of the competition.
The POCO F4 GT picks up from where last year’s POCO F3 took off, although this time it offers more than just a fancy display and powerful processor.
If you’re on the fence about getting this one – maybe you’re looking to buy your first-ever POCO device, or maybe you’re looking to upgrade – then we’ve listed some reasons as to why you should seriously consider this phone. With that in mind, let’s get started!
Screen Quality
One of the best features of the POCO F4 GT is the 6.67-inch OLED display in front. It comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass Victus, and a 20-megapixel camera in a hole-punch embedded in the display.
The display looks smooth and fluid thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate, and scrolling through the user interface is fast and snappy. Likewise, colours on the screen are vibrant thanks to the OLED screen, with deep blacks and great-looking contrast.
Media consumption and gaming will look great on the display, and if you’re after a smartphone with a terrific display that can also serve as your primary entertainment device, then look no further than this one.
Trigger Buttons
The right side of the POCO F4 GT features trigger buttons, which are smartly hidden thanks to a cool switch mechanism. When you need to use them, all you need is a simple flick of the magnetic pop-up switch and the buttons will be ready for use.
It’s not hard to see why POCO has advertised this phone mainly for gaming scenarios, given that the company has equipped the handset with shoulder buttons solely designed to give you more control during gaming sessions, especially with FPS titles and such. The triggers do work nicely and are responsive, although they’ll probably take some time to get used to, depending on how large your hands are.
Performance and Power
When it comes to performance, the POCO F4 GT is certainly impressive. The phone comes equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 flagship processor, which is used on a number of premium high-end smartphones from multiple brands. It succeeds last year’s Snapdragon 888 chip, and offers faster performance speeds.
In addition, the phone also has internal liquid cooling technology, and 128GB of internal storage and 8GB RAM, or 256GB storage and 12GB RAM, depending on the region. Performance will be a breeze for the F4 GT. The generous amount of RAM combined with the ultra-fast Snapdragon chip means that the phone will have little to no difficulty even with the latest Android games.
Battery Performance
In terms of battery capacity, the POCO F4 GT comes packed with a 4700 mAh unit inside. While it’s not exactly the usual 5000 mAh fare we get with most Android phones nowadays, it’s nevertheless a decent size especially for a phone designed for entertainment.
Given that a lot of Snapdragon chips are also battery-efficient, we imagine that the battery inside the F4 GT will be able to hold its own for a decent amount of time. Of course, you have to take into consideration the amount of playtime, as well as the OLED display.
In the event that you need to charge your battery, the phone has support for 120W Hypercharge, meaning that you can replenish your battery from zero to 100 percent in around 18 minutes,
Additional Features
While not crucial to the performance of the device, the gaming-centric LED light feature – which is built into the camera housing – should no doubt appeal to buyers looking for a very distinct phone design. There’s an option to switch it off though, but it is a nice additional feature, especially when receiving notifications, calls, and such. You can also assign it to work with certain apps, and customize the colours which are displayed.
On the software side of things, there’s also a built-in “Game Turbo” software feature, which is actually found on a number of different POCO phones as well. The app works by routing all of your phone’s performance and memory towards whatever game you’re playing, so you get a smooth and flawless gaming experience.
Overall, the POCO F4 GT is a very capable smartphone, and performance is certainly the main selling point of this device. Given that it’s also relatively more affordable compared to other Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 handsets out there, it makes for one appealing purchase, especially for fans of the Xiaomi and POCO brands.
